Kingston Canyon

Route Stats

59 miles, 5400' climbing

Estimated time: 4-7 hours

Technical

Spice: 🌶🌶

Sand: 🏖

This route takes you across the Toiyabe Range south of Austin, NV on a beautiful gravel road over the pass. Much of the pass is a mellow grade, however the last mile kicks up substantially and many may find themselves having to hike a bit. The first part of the descent is also quite steep before flattening out once again.

Water Sources

Several small creeks in Kingston Canyon. Depending on time/day the Lucky Spur Saloon in Kingston may be an option if it's open and is worth a visit either way if it is!

Recommended Tire Size

38-50c

Additional Beta

The Austin community pool is right at the start of the ride and can be a very pleasant post ride refresh! Also nearby are Spencer Hot Springs for a post ride soak.

Have a little more time and want a sweet MTB route? Check out the Toiyabe Crest Trail which volunteers have been working hard to rehab over the last few years. This route is included below for those interested. This is a MOUNTAIN BIKE route. There are some seasonal creeks later on the Crest but these may not be running late in the season especially during dry years.
