Truckee

A longer route with a tough but rewarding climb to the Sardine Peak fire tower. A high proportion of dirt can make for slow travel, but options exist for more pavement to make for a faster loop.

Another local fire tower worth a visit with spectacular views from the entire summit ridge. Many may prefer a bit wider tires for the long descent down.

Note: Many of these routes can be accessed by starting in Verdi and riding Henness Pass/TPT although it adds significant mileage/vert/time to the day.
